Air Tahiti Nui this morning announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Atlanta-based U.S. carrier Delta Air Lines to negotiate a Marketing Relationship.
Potential areas of cooperation in such an agreement may include agreements for codeshare services (including passengers, cargo and mail), frequent flyer program participation, joint advertising and promotions, and other mutually agreed areas of marketing cooperation.
The proposed agreement is one that will fulfill the international route expansion that is common to the strategy of both carriers.
Air Tahiti Nui indicated that the opportunity for both carriers is unique as there is little or no overlap between the current operations of either airline. Our relatively young airline has again managed to benefit from its successful business model and acknowledged service reputation to enable this kind of relationship with a respected global carrier such as Delta Air Lines.
Delta Air Lines is proud to celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2004. Delta is the world's second-largest airline in terms of passengers carried and the leading U.S. carrier across the Atlantic, offering daily flights to 496 destinations in 88 countries on Delta, Song, Delta Shuttle, the Delta Connection carriers and its worldwide partners. Delta's marketing alliances allow customers to earn and redeem frequent flier miles on more than 14,000 flights offered by SkyTeam and other partners. Delta is a founding member of SkyTeam, a global airline alliance that provides customers with extensive worldwide destinations, flights and services. For more information, please visit delta.com.
