Seasonal Lift From New York Suspended
LOS ANGELES, CA, February 2, 2009 – Air Tahiti Nui announced today that it is consolidating its North American flights to Tahiti via its Los Angeles hub for the peak 2009 summer season. From June through September, the French Polynesian carrier will be operating a minimum of 13 flights per week from Los Angeles International Airport to Faa’a International Airport in Papeete, Tahiti.
Air Tahiti Nui’s decision not to operate its twice-weekly JFK summer flights and to streamline service through its West Coast gateway is based on its available capacity to Tahiti and current economic conditions.
Easy connections from New York and other U.S. cities will continue to be available via the airline’s pro-rate agreements with numerous domestic carriers.
Working with its tourism partners, Air Tahiti Nui’s national sales and marketing activities will continue unchanged. With the opening of the new Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora and Hilton properties in the islands, Tahiti remains a popular destination for honeymooners and vacationers seeking idyllic beaches and warm Polynesian hospitality.
