Spent 8 days in Paris and 2 days in Biarritz. What a remarkable experience it was. Having traveled to most Western European Capitals Paris had been on the list of must do but waited for a French speaking friend to tag along and make the experience even better with my own translator. Everyone should go to Paris at least once in their life. The Tomb of Napoleon is very remarkable and the history of the building is fascinating.

My husband is currently deployed to Iraq. For his two week R&R (and our 'delayed' honeymoon and first year anniversary) we decided to go to Bora Bora. As things are with the Army, he wasn't given his firm travel dates until TWO DAYS before we were scheduled to travel! I apologize for not writing this note sooner, because it certainly is warranted. My husband, I and another couple flew to LA June 11, 2010 to connect with Air Tahiti Nui to Tahiti, only to learn some workers in French Polynesia had gone on strike, making it impossible for planes to take off or land. We ended up stranded in LA for four days before we were able to leave. Despite the fact that the strike was no fault of Air Tahiti Nui, they provided lodging and meal vouchers for those four days.
